President
Ayman Bejjani is a junior from Holly Springs, North Carolina. Ayman has played classical violin since the age of 4 and has since developed a deep passion for chamber music. In high school, Ayman also fell in love with biology and its application to the field of medicine. Ayman joined Heeling in Harmony to combine his love for music and the medical field and hopes to touch the lives of others through music.
Vice President
Michael Lee is a junior studying Biostatistics. He started playing violin at age 12 but found his passion for music when an accident left him hospitalized in the UNC burn unit. Through violin, he found a medium to cope and find comfort. Michael studies violin performance with Jackie Wolborsky and is part of the UNC violin studio. Michael also spends his time doing clinical research in nephrology and rheumatology. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and getting coffee with friends.
Treasurer
Vivienne Knul is a senior from Charlotte, North Carolina, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. Viv is a research assistant on the Classroom Memory Study at the FPG Child Development Institute, and in the CIRCLE lab at UNC’s Department of Psychology & Neuroscience. She joined Heeling in Harmony her freshman year to continue her passion for music through community service. She plays the piano and ukulele. After undergrad, she plans to do a post-bacc and continue doing research. She is interested in pursuing a healthcare career in pediatrics.
Secretary
Esther Son is a junior from Cary, NC, majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in medical professions Spanish. She is a classically trained pianist and has competed in numerous events throughout her primary and secondary education. Now, she turns to music during her free time and enjoys the opportunity to share her love through UNC Heeling in Harmony. Outside of Heeling in Harmony, Esther is a research assistant of the UNC Institute of Trauma Recovery team and an advocate for mental health and a leader of UNC Mental Health Ambassadors and the UNC Wellness Network. She plans to attend medical school after graduation and incorporate music in her life.
Public Relations Manager
Coco is a senior studying Biostatistics and Computer Science. She is a clarinet player in the UNC Wind Ensemble and enjoys piano collaborations outside class. Music has been an integral part of her life. With her fuel and passion in the health sciences and through Heeling in Harmony, she wants to use music to impact in the best possible ways.
Fundraising Officer
Simran Singh is a sophomore from Florence, South Carolina, pursuing a BA in Global Health and Environment in Latin America with Minors in Chemistry and Spanish for the Medical Professions. She has played the violin for ~10 years and the piano for ~7 years. Simran is excited to make a difference as fundraising chair and looks forward to spreading our love of music with the rest of the UNC community.
First Year Representative
Aivry Coleman is a freshman from Roxboro, North Carolina, majoring in environmental science with minors in marine science and music. She plays the trombone and guitar and is a member of the Marching Tarheels. Aivry was involved with music organizations in high school and is excited to continue serving others through music as Heeling in Harmony’s First-Year Representative. In her free time, Aivry enjoys playing tennis, spending time with her dogs, watching football, and hopes to participate in undergraduate research at UNC.
Associate Professor of Violin, UNC Chapel Hill
Nicholas DiEugenio is currently Associate Professor of Violin at UNC Chapel Hill, also previously being violin professor at the Ithaca College School of Music. During summers, Nicholas teaches at Kinhaven Music School and holds BM and MM degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and an AD and DMA from the Yale School of Music. Nicholas also leads a versatile life as chamber musician, leader, and soloist. He is a core member of the Sebastians, and performs and records with pianist Mimi Solomon. Nicholas is also director of the Luby Violin Symposium at UNC Chapel Hill, and co-artistic director of MYCO, a youth chamber music program in Chapel Hill, NC.
Associate Chair of PCME, UNC Chapel Hill
Brent Wissick graduated from Crane School of Music at Potsdam College in NY and of Penn State (MM cello). He was an NEH Fellow at Harvard in the 1993 Beethoven Quartet Seminar and has taught at College of St Scholastica in Minnesota (1978-82), Chautauqua Institution and the 1997 Aston Magna Academy at Yale. Brent is currently a Professor and Associate Chair of Performance, Composition, and Music Education (PCME) at UNC Chapel Hill, having taught cello, viola da gamba, and chamber music at UNC since 1982. He also directs UNC's Cello Choir, Viol Consort and Baroque Ensemble, and has served as mentor of the Kenan Music Scholars and is chair of the String Area.
